ACT UP: We’re Here with a Plan

They so well organised. Before they came to the conference they worked out a plan of action: for each day they have a different plan.

The effectiveness of ACT UP as an activist group is phenomenal. Each one of them knows exactly what to do. They sit in their exhibition booth and they work, strategise and caucus. They know what they want and for each protest they shout a different slogan, media statement and a different action.

They send ambiance through the exhibition hall this morning when they ripped down the European Union stall. The security people couldn’t do anything.

Very impressive and systematically they shouted out their statements. For each one of there actions they have a different method of doing it. It looks like they organised themselves in groups that are responsible for different actions.

The resource they use shows that they very well-funded. They are a powerful group of young people that actively works towards fighting AIDS.

This afternoon they blown-up a big Coke bottle, demanding Coke make all of its workers part of the company AIDS program. Different from this morning, with a different group of people leading they once again send ambiance through the exhibition Hall when they occupied the Global Business exhibition stall. Wonder what is in store next…
